Years ago, as God began to call me toward a life of ministry, at one point I was praising him in song….I stopped and spoke out of the joy in my heart, “Surely God has created the beauty of this world for his glory and my delight!” In that very moment, he spoke clearly in my spirit and said, “Tell others.” It was the first time I’d heard God speak so clearly. I was surprised and wondered what I was to tell, how I was to tell it, and to whom I was to speak. That was 19…97. It would be a few more years and several interim course changes before the way became clear. Today I know what I am to tell, how I am to tell it, to whom I am to speak and I strive to be faithful to that each and every day. When I get sidetracked attempting to do things or desiring things that are not part of God’s will for my life and ministry, I find myself pulled out of the peace and joy that defines my relationship with Christ. Today, I know that I know that I am where God desires and doing what God wills. It is a small thing compared to the ministry of many others. It is often filled with disappointment and heartache and when those times come, God says to me again, “If this is too hard you don’t have to do it.” But the joy of the moment when a new disciple begins to walk in the footsteps of Jesus on her own, I know that God has a plan for each life he brings my way. And each one will respond to God in her own way, though not always in the way for which I hope. God is still God. He is Good, he is Sovereign, and he loves each of us personally and unconditionally. I tell others that over and over again in lots of different ways. Today, know that God is Good, he is Sovereign, and he loves you personally and unconditionally. Jesus is the proof of all of those things. Merry Christmas
From my daughter in law, Joni Byrd:
“This makes me smile! Before you received this clear calling, you were already telling others. I will always be appreciative of the ways in which you mentored me. You invited me into the knowledge and mysteries of God. Love you, Cathy!”
Had coffee with our grands across the street for their gift surprises. Now we’re home. I’m vacuuming and getting ready for the rest of the crew to come in tonight and have brunch all together tomorrow.

In 2014, Manmin members smiled and laughed a lot, and sometimes shed lots of tears because they
realized how the shepherd had sacrificed himself for them.

I am SO unorganized. But I am SO with you on that one. There are a few tignhs that are always in order. My hundreds of DVDs are always in alphabetical order by title. Some people call this crazy, I call this, How can you expect to ever find anything in hundreds of dvds if they’re not in order? Also, I color coordinate my closet as well, just as you do. It just looks nice! And my yarn is always caked and cataloged and put together nicely. I might have 10 1-foot piles of paper in my office (literally), but my yarn and closet are beautiful.
