This social media post from Bishop Carolyn Moore today is such an insightful and encouraging message. I am putting it here to refer back to as I watch Snd labor in the kingdom myself!

“Seven lessons as I head home from six weeks on the road visiting multiple GMC communities in multiple cultures and countries:
- God moves — in every culture, language, and spirituality, he is at work. Our task — whatever our nationality — is to watch for where he is working so we can join him.
- Holiness is a beautiful, transcendent vision. It works in any context and answers every question. We can be holy because He is.
- Humility is the operating system that best communicates the message of holiness.
- “Take nothing but Jesus” seems like good wisdom (Luke 9:3-4). It uncomplicates things, but it is not a license to set compassion aside.
- The prosperity gospel has stolen a lot of deep spirituality from God’s people. It is an insidious corruption of the gospel, and quickly reduces relationships to transactions.
- Children shape society. Children’s spiritual education — both boys and girls — is crucial to the advancement of the Kingdom. Jesus said this first.
- The Holy Spirit will always prompt me to lean in. Looking people in the eye, listening to their stories, hearing what is not being said as well as what is, accepting the vulnerablee position of being powerless to “fix” everything … those habits counter the gravitational pull toward separateness and transactional spirituality (which is no spirituality at all).”
