40 Days: From Poverty To Purpose
When confronted with desperate poverty of spirit
one comes face to face with the brokenness of her life,
and mourns the death of illusion and facade that hid the truth, where she is comforted
and invited into a healing and redeeming journey
with the meek and lowly Christ…….
In hungering and thirsting for righteousness,
they shall then be satisfied…..
and what follows is mercy to the merciful,
purity of heart through which God is made manifest,
peacemaking by the sons and daughters of God,
and power to stand in the face of any assault from the enemy……
To be a prophetic messenger and witness to the Holy Spirit’s presence
and bring a timely Word from God to those who are awakening.
It isn’t the chronology of hours or days or years that matters.
It is that after a pivotal incremental three-part movement of agonizing, suffering, and surrender,
awakening to the next dawn and each day thereafter, going forward,
signals a new beginning,
conceived afresh and springing forth
from the mind of Creator God
and renewing the earth
This is the miracle of 40 days,
of 40 years
or whatever time you have
been exiled in wilderness trials
Day 4 comes
and within its dawn is conceived God’s plan
for hope and a future.Today and every day that follows is that day.
CBB 3/2/23.
Today is a pivotal palindrome day…..”3223″…… It is like time standing still for a moment…… A moment to decide. Whether one looks backward or forward, it is the same view. That’s how it is when one is awakened. One sees the reality that The Timeless and Eternal God always has been, is now, and forever will be with us.)
In 1997 in the midst of a fierce personal storm the Lord reminded me that He is with me every day and that each day is a new beginning…. I, too, could rise up from the grave where the enemy sought to entomb me…… Each day is a 4th Day, just as we Emmaus pilgrims are reminded that our 3-day experience of Community In Christ is to be carried forward into each new day as a fresh “Fourth Day” for the rest of one’s life.
In that storm God gave me a private language of numbers that He used to guide me through that storm and to tether my wounded and wandering heart to Himself. In the interpretation of that numeric language, “40” means “going forward, conceived anew.”. “0” is a medical symbol for conception, and a numeric or chronological timekeeping stating point.
For me “40” will always be a signal to watch what new thing God is doing….. Today.
