I’ve had these sweet little handmade sheep for 10-15 years, ordered from a catalog. One of them (the one scratching his ear) got dropped and lost a leg. I went to Hobby Lobby Saturday and got some modeling clay to implement a sheep leg healing! Ha Ha. The new prosthetic leg has been molded and attached to the wire “bone” and will dry overnight. Now I have to learn how to match matte finish watercolor paints. Then I can get him back up on his feet. Sheep with broken legs are a theme in my life….I have written in the past about my MIL’s nativity set that I inherited after her death. It has a sheep with a broken leg. And the year that I got it, I tried to find a replacement sheep and couldn’t. Then Max Lucado came out with his Christmas story book, The Crippled Lamb that year and I realized that even the little lamb with the broken leg still had a purpose…..

A trio of handmade sheep figures The one lying down is supposed to be standing. He is scratching his ear. Somewhere along the way, he fell and the back leg broke so that he could no longer stand. He now has a “new” modeling clay leg and is drying overnight and will get painted and return to his standing position soon.

ps. A few years ago I gave these three sheep to our oldest granddaughter who loved a little sheep Ty stuffed huggie when she was small. Lambic went everywhere with her.!
