from 1/3/2025….. Remembering President Jimmy Carter
Present Jimmy Carter, of Plains, Ga., near where I grew up was described today this way: “summation of the man: “disciplined, funny, enormously intelligent, and deeply spiritual.”
Not a bad epitaph.

My brother, Dan Boyd, from Plains, Ga, wrote on his FB page about his personal experience with President Jimmy Carter:
“A few years ago, I was helping build an irrigation pond on president Carter’s property. During this time, I got to know him better as he would come out every day to look at our progress. At the end of the construction, I was out for a week needing esophageal surgery for reflux. At home recouping a week later, he called me checking on my status wanting to see if I could get out. “Yes” I said,so he picked me up that morning, his 2 security men in front seat, president Carter & I in the back seat. We rode for several hours as he told me stories of different people & places that he recalled when something came to mind. The “joy ride” was amazing. His attention was on me & my comfort as he asked me about my health, family, work. President Carter’s focus was about other people’s lives, he poured himself into me that day. His care & concern was to give what he was able to. He showed his love by spending time with me & he didn’t have to, he truly wanted to & it was obvious Christ overflowed out of his being. I’ve talked with & known many people saying he will be missed. I will never forget the man for who he really was, a man of God.”
