De-Shamed:
Exposed, with all the beauty of spirit and soul you were intended by God to have, redeemed, “naked , and unashamed”, Genesis 2:25.
Quote heard and pondered at a women’s conference a few years ago:
“There is a difference between forgiveness and freedom. You can know you are forgiven and still not live in freedom.” You are living in freedom when you can boldly proclaim what you are forgiven from! It’s no longer about the pride of self-protection, but it is about abandoning yourself to trusting God so that it no longer matters who knows what you have gained victory over!”
Forgiveness is having release from the PENALTY of sin, having one’s debt expiated, the tally sheet wiped clean.
Freedom is being “delivered” or released from the POWER of sin in your life…. so that the memory of your past no longer controls you. It has no dulling effect on your spirit or your joy, no control over your mind. It cannot damage your reputation, does not alter your presentation of your witness or testimony in any setting, and makes you free to BE all that God intends…. kneeling to help the least among us or standing among kings with equanimity.
Honesty and vulnerability are beautiful, bold, courageous expressions of true freedom in Christ.
