Friendships

I’m reading “The Gift of Friendship: Stories That Celebrate the Beauty of Shared Moments” by Dawn Camp, Jennifer Dukes Lee and wanted to share this quote.

“The Beauty of Friendship We can appreciate friendship like we do—A beautiful sunset. You can never re-create the sky you once saw across the desert at twilight. You enjoy it while it lasts. These are moments where you connect with   a friend, but life takes you on different paths. A shooting star. Some friends seem to appear out of nowhere, when our journeys go through dark times. Like a shooting star, someone offers the space to be heard and to be known. They bring special encouragement, refreshing us just in one moment of need. Flowers in bloom. Other friends are like flowers in bloom, sharing giggles and the sheer exhilaration of joy. We may not see them often, but when we do, we leave with their fragrance on our hearts. Evergreens. There may be one or two evergreens in the background of our stories, standing ready to provide us protection or shade. They are our mentors, who give by listening and offering us words of wisdom. And then there are the everyday friendships—the kind that are more like art.”
