“Limiting information is how one leverages power.” quoted from the government consultant who crafted a large government program and later talked about how stupid the American people are and can be hoodwinked into accepting anything if you can limit the information they need in order to grasp the reality of it. Secrecy, non-disclosure of facts, meeting behind closed doors instead of “in the sunshine”, lack of transparency and honesty, making the process look overly difficult to understand, either withhold information altogether or “dump” so much that it’s impossible to grasp, withhold timeframes and specifics of expectations…..all designed to obfuscate and keep others in the dark. This is not a commentary on national policy makers…..it’s an observation on the means that individuals or groups use to exercise power over others. In some circles, people say that using these practices forces people to trust God or reveals their ability to trust God…..I say its first effect is to undermine trust in people, and even more so if those people profess to represent God.
