Strength for Each Day

From 5/4/2019

Yesterday’s interruptions did not appear to be from the Lord. But then again, you never know. I left home at 7 am to drive a lady veteran to Pensacola who had to come back here to close out a bank account. We had a nice ride and a good visit, but traffic was horrible. It took me 2 hours longer than planned. Our Titus 2 car broke down on our ladies and I had to call a board member to take Titus 2 students to 2 medical appointments while I was out of town and Bill was tied up with contractors at our house. One Titus 2 lady unexpectedly wound up having to go to the emergency room and spend the day, then the night, as well, in the hospital. And 2 of our women had to Uber to work because I wasn’t back in town yet. It was altogether a little inconvenient, but it all got taken care of. Maybe that was the lesson and a reminder to me and our women. Even when things get a bit hectic and inconvenient there are people who will come to the aid of our ladies and me. After 2 afternoon counseling sessions and some time spent with landscapers making final decisions for our yard, I set out on some late afternoon errands and a hospital check on our young lady, finally getting home at 8:45. Some friends ask where I find my energy. I think it is God-given in order to accomplish the things to which he has called me. I know it will not last forever. But for today I thank God that it is available to me and sustains me for the sake of living abundantly and being in ministry to women and families in crisis.
