“A brief down day…truly Sabbath rest….no papers due, no books to be read, no tasks that must be done before Monday morning. (Although I really should be working in our yard! It’s been so long since I did yard work, it’s gone to pot …. oops, gone are the days when one could use that word innocently, I expect. Don’t mean that literally 🙂 Although, did you read about the grandmother who had a lovely stand of marijuana in her back yard and when police showed up she claimed that she didn’t know what it was, she was just growing it because it was a pretty plant?”
When I sold our lake house two years ago I tried bringing some of my gardening enthusiasm to the postage stamp yard I now have. Â It hasn’t worked very well. Â I keep purging my small yard, realizing even s small space still requires a fair amount of upkeep if you’re going to have flowers. I am having to rethink “yard” entirely. Â Maybe it’s my age….. I have less interest in being in the yard digging in the dirt though I still enjoy having flowers and plants and trees around.
I guess my habits and interests have changed more than I had realized…. Â and I feel like I am going to pot… but not the botanical kind, no matter how many more medical marijuana dispensaries pop up or how many people justify it.
