We can quibble about the finer micro and macro details of soteriology, but as I believe John Wesley would affirm sbout salvation,
“You either Are and you know it OR
you Aren’t and you know it OR
you Aren’t and you need to be sure you do know it” .
In the case of our youngest ones’ uncatechesized hearts, they truly Don’t Know yet, but that’s okay, we Jesus-knowing-and-believing parents gave our babies to Jesus’ Daddy, and have stayed in the Lord’s house with Him and them, so whenever Jesus comes around again knocking on the door of their hearts, they’ll be ready to welcome Him with joy, too, ’cause they’ve seen His picture in Daddy’s house and we talk about Daddy’s Son all the time!
There’s no mistaking it. YOU “KNOW” JESUS, personally and intimately…..not by how He looks or how He talks, but by how your spirit leaps within you from the spirit-Spirit spark when His Holy Spirit draws near. And even if you are blind, deaf, mute (like Helen Keller was when Annie Sullivan came into her life) or you are lame, bound in chains, or diseased, or life-limited in any other manner, you will recognize Him when He personally takes your hand, by how he writes His name in your hand with his fingers and then writes your name in your hand with His fingers invites you to write your name on His Hand. However, no one else may even know what is written but you and Him…. because you are speaking a language that only you two can know and understand.
