The Reverence Bible: “Lived, Not Read”

Early this morning as my brain began to stir, the Lord put in my mind a one-frame dream/vision of a Bible that said: “The Reverence Bible”. I thought to myself, “What is this? I’ve seen a lot of Bibles, but this is something new.” Immediately, I felt the Lord speak into my spirit….. “It is lived, not read.” Then I got up and Bill and I tuned into Dr. David Jeremiah for our morning time together. His message was on Hebrews 11… The Faith of Commitment. He said, in part, to notice the verbs attached to each person referenced in Hebrews 11. Their faith is defined by the greatness of the object of their faith… God…. and by their obedient action in response to God’s call. This was potent…”the time delay between God’s call and our response is satan’s.” Satan will work opposition in the midst of our delays.

I reflected on that vision of The Reverence Bible all day. I had a challenging day involving several court cases, family health concerns, aging dogs’ demands, requests for information, etc…… but eventually I had time to sit with the Titus 2 ladies and talk to them about faith commitment lived out by our demonstration of reverence, honor, obedience, and delight in God. We had a wonderful conversation as they shared with me what God had been showing them in his Word and in prayer this week.

I want my life to be a Reverence Bible that others can read and that proclaims the glory and redemptive love of God!

And tonight….. my seedbed daily text devotional is THIS!!!

“I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:25-27)

The eternal Word of God, Jesus Christ, in you—in me—for others, this is the gospel. This is the word of God in its fullness. This is the transformation that leads to transcendence; a life of beholding the Son of God which becomes a life in which the Son of God can be received, believed, and beheld by others.” JD Walt- seedbed.com
