The plague of our modern day age is anxiety…..Many people are medicated for anxiety as a way to give them a little peace in a stress filled world. Or they self-medicate with alcohol or food or overwork or other excessive behaviors. The opposite of anxiety is peace. Where can one find it? Peace with God, within one’s self, and with others around them? Peace with the many issues that cause fear in the world?
Luke 7:50
And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Over and over again Christ sends out those whose lives he has touched with healing….(always spiritual healing along with the physical healing) ..with PEACE. Peace is a function of faith. It is a function of relationship with Christ. It is a function of assurance that you are known, accepted, and loved by God.
Peace is not in a human relationship. It is a product of the Holy Spirit at work in one’s life. Anxiety is the absence of peace. When you feel anxious, ask yourself, where has my peace gone? Why have I allowed something to come in and replace it? And know where to go and how to regain your peace.
Philippians 4:6
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
