Aftermath

The news reports emerging from the investigation of the Orlando Pulse bar shooting are as horrifying as the reports of the shooting itself. The shooter himself was reported to be gay by his ex-wife and others? That she knew about his plans and said nothing? And he had frequented the Pulse and other gay bars? His religion and its hatred for and murderous intent toward gays (and Jews, and women, and any who believe differently from him) resulted in him destroying himself and as many others as he presumed to be like himself as he could as he was drawn deeper into its radicalized theology? What kind of sickness in a religion teaches this kind of hatred toward others and one’s self?

God’s Word , embodied in the Incarnate Christ, says, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus teaches forgiveness and acceptance of one another and one’s self, not because of our own goodness or righteousness (for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God), but because of Christ’s love for us and his death on our behalf. Christ teaches self sacrifice in living for God and serving others and in doing so, bringing the reality of Heaven to the Earth. Mohammad and the Koran, according to these radicalized religion fanatics, teaches the glory of martyrdom in dying for one’s god and killing others for one’s personal reward in some sick hyper-sexualized hereafter.

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The Word cuts to truth of the matter. There is no truth or life in sick, radical religious extremism! If this is the truth of a religion, it is a perversion of the reality of who God is. Unless its adherents, who assert that their religion is one of peace, take up the call to stop this insane interpretation of who the Divine is and what the Divine desires, then the Divine they worship will be exposed as a fraud, absolutely not the same Being as the God I know in Christ. such violence is not God’s way and will. If it is their faith’s way, then such a divine is not God and will not prevail.

Anyone who attempts to defend any religion without exposing and forsaking the radical teachers and practitioners that promote and carry out violent acts as these sects do is facilitating the death of such faith altogether in the long run. There can be no peace in the world until such lies about the character and nature of God are exposed. It’s no different than what Christians have had to do in exposing and forsaking the radical perversion of groups like the KKK and racial hatred and the subjugation of women to inferior status.

God will not be mocked by such perverse interpretations of God’s character and name in any religion. He will exercise judgment on those who commit it and on those who permit it by justifying it or keeping silent. Just saying……
