Just as Dottie Wilson’s text devotional today (below) hints, I do believe God reveals Himself to us as timeless, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent occasionally. There have been brief moments when I and others with whom I have talked have experienced “jumps” or “wrinkles” in time in which something has happened and when it is done, the timeline, as a matter of chronological experience “does not compute!” It is as if God has somehow rearranged circumstances in the blink of an eye and one is left wondering, “What just happened??” The only thing that makes sense is that one has experienced an aberration or alteration of time as we are conditioned to experience it and, in the interim, God has rearranged pieces on the game board of life, usually to the advantage in some way of the person experiencing the time warp. In this way God can move timelessly and redeem in ways that are miraculous and, for the most part, unobserved by the world. I can say without a doubt, however, that beings in the spirit realm see it and shudder at God’s power, and those of us humans who may be drawn into that rarified, liminal space that divides the physical and spiritual realm realities in that moment are no less in awe and reverent wonder at a God of such sovereignty and goodness toward His creation, to preserve and continue it in the minutest of details and grandest of designs.
“God is the author of time and days. Time itself, bends to His will. Do not live in dread of what is coming or of what is before you. God knows the hidden pages of your story. Nothing in your journey is wasted. In God‘s hands, even your wounds become seeds. What looks like an ending to you is only the turning of a page to God. Because you love God, your life will shine as proof that He works all things together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose, Romans 8:28.” From Dottie Wilson
Some have described accidents or “near misses” in which they had an awareness of impending doom and somehow, all of a sudden, the moment was over, the event was averted or the individual seemed to “come to” in different posture or direction with a sudden realization that she was snatched out of or shoved through whatever the danger had been with minimal to no adverse impact. Some recognize it as a miracle. Some call it an angelic intervention. I think such events are far more common than we know, because people often are so rattled by them, they don’t tell others because of how unbelievable it sounds.
one friend read this and replied:
“This comes to me in God’s perfect timing…speaking of time! I just started reading Redeeming Your Timeline by Troy A Brewer, a pastor in Texas highly involved in rescuing children trapped in human trafficking.. Heard him on a podcast recently. He speaks of the event you mention and many more experiences. His first point: Time is a gift from God. I never looked at it that way. Time felt like a punisher, destructive, unforgiving. But it is not. I highly recommend the book. It is packed with scripture, which was important to me. I take your post as confirmation i need to keep reading.”
