Secrecy And Shame

Hint: When someone tells you not to “tell anyone” about something they have done to you or someone else that causes harm, unless it is accompanied by a sincere apology and assurance that it won’t happen again, tell them you will not keep their secrets. And if harm has been perpetrated against an innocent or vulnerable person unable to speak for herself or is a repeat offense after a warning, shout it from the rooftops. Mordecai did not hesitate to wear sackcloth and ashes and mourn loudly in the midst of the people when Haman carried out his vile plan against the people of God with the consent of the naïve and deceived king.

2 Corinthians 4:2 …. Because we have this ministry of reconciliation in Christ Jesus, we don’t engage in secrecy, shameful things, deception, or distortion of the word.”
