Growing Strong in the Word

I love how our daily lessons in the Word with the Wake -Up Call morning devotional from seedbed.com point to and buld on one another. I didn’t hear writer JD Walt reference seedbed’s graphic representation of the church’s awakening calendar that reveals multiple rhythmic cycles or “seasons”  in each 12 month timeframe when God re-presents renewed opportunities again and again for this “V-device” pattern mentioned in Friday’s devotional to challenge us or simply for further reflection, meditation, surrender, and refining in this process of molding the true “self” through the days and seasons of our lives. What is at the “valley” of each movement is vulnerability… always on display is Christ’s vulnerability and His demonstrated trust revealed by His choice to be vulnerable at the hands of humankind ……. again and again, but always revealed, too, is His victory….

Today, Veterans Day, November 11, 2022 the Wake-Up Call introduces us to something called the “V-device”, a military term.  Read or listen to today’s link for more information and see its relevance to my notes here, based on contemplating today’s devotional and others that are now coming together in a coherent way for me.

Christ’s:
– vulnerability in entering into chronos history through human infancy into modest, even scandalous, circumstances; nevertheless living into the fullness of prophecy in becoming a man of authority and renown even among those who brushed His true identity aside.

  • vulnerability in submitting Himself to the embarrassment and excuse-making of His family, jealousy, suspicions, and abuse of religious leaders, betrayal of friends, and brutality of the Roman occupiers; nevertheless, rising to resurrected life and spending 40 days in the post-graduate phase of His preparation of His followers to continue His work.

  • vulnerability in placing the future of His kingdom on earth into the hands of mere men; nevertheless trusting them to receive and learn to walk in His Holy Spirit as He had exemplified it for them as they demonstrate faithfulness to Word and Spirit.

With each movement in the “V-device” we practice our faith as we:
– yield to awareness of our vulnerabilty
– give attentiveness to the presence of God in the midst of circumstances.
– grow in attunement with God’s desires and will
– stand securely in our attachment to God, to one’s true self, and in kindness, charity and goodwill toward others
– experience and respond to the agape affection of God
– abide in Him as we experience His Holy Spirit abiding in us
– abandon ourselves to the joy of trusting Him daily and living abundantly in the kingdom.

This is the Christian Awakening Calendar from seedbed.com that reveals the larger seasonal expression of the “V-device” observed in Scripture again and again.

The more one studies the Bible, the more beautifully coherent, consistent, and guided by divine design one can observe the Scripture’s structure that instructs us and illuminates our understanding.

In similar style, patterns are observed in nature that teach us to look for them throughout God’s works and Word…..

There is a mathematical constant that occurs in nature that has been said to add growing evidence of divine design throughout nature……
