Seas To Highways…..

Are you ever listening to music on the radio and suddenly a word or phrase jumps out at you that leads you to something you hadn’t seen , heard, or considered before? This morning as I listened to a Christian station, a song “Graves Into Gardens” came on and I heard something that piqued my interest….. seas to highways.
“You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You’re the only one who can (Come on)
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory (Tell ’em now)
You’re the only one who can (Let’s turn the graves)
You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You’re the only one who can (He’s the only Lord)
You’re the only one who can
Oh, there’s nothing (Come on, choir), better than You
Oh, there’s nothing better than You
Lord, there’s nothing
Nothing is better than You”
I get the reference to an image of Jesus Christ (and even Simon Peter) perhaps walking on the water in this “seas to highways” phrase.
But I haven written also about the observation of some that the seas, or oceans, represent a universal spiritual kind of mixing place of all souls together, joining God there, That imagery did not resonate or appeal to me or seem to be an accurate way to think about the destination of souls. Jesus spoke of the “highways” that many would chose instead of the “narrow way” that He offered.

Human souls will not, in my opinion be merged in confluence with God’s being.  Creator is still  Creator and created is created.
