Psalm 27:13
“I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.”
The alarming increase among children, youth, and adults of depression, suicide, and a variety of other mental health dysfunctions is so sad…… and unnecessary. Feelings of alienation, isolation, and desperation grip many in our nation….. pessimism and fear about the future are rampant.
Yet God is still present, sovereign, good, and personally engaged with those who love Him and who are sincerely aiming at living into His will. God’s goodness in their lives and in their ability to see God at work in the world is seen, felt, known, and gratefully appreciated. For those who are living transcendently, above the hard circumstances of life that are always present, there is another reality….. one that holds hope, joy and peace beyond understanding…. It is the result of the Holy Spirit at work within us and we pray for God to move powerfully that others would desire His presence in their lives, too, and know these eternal blessings that begin here, on earth, when we embrace faith in Jesus Christ. Those who live this life in Christ are enjoying God’s goodness in the land of the living, even now… in times that, as we are told again and again, are so difficult.
ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE ( from The Pour Over news site)
We live in a sinful, broken, and unfair world that is marred by sin. Even as we work and pray for peace, we can take comfort knowing that this is not our home and, through Christ, all things will ultimately be made right.
“Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff — they comfort me.”
