I took lunch and visited with an 88-years-young friend of mine yesterday. We laughed and told stories for 2 hours. She showed me pictures from her youth…WOW! What a stunningly beautiful young woman! That doesn’t surprise me at all as she continues to be a stunningly beautiful matriarch, too! She gave me a couple of vintage hats, a few small handbags for our Titus 2 ladies, and some other things. She told me about ladies at her church who have organized a “Passover Club”….”A What????????” , I asked! She said they gather up their nice-but-no-longer-needed items and they get together and share them with others who can use them or know someone else who can. She said, “Anyone can take what she needs or she can “pass it over” to someone else who can use it or who knows someone who can use it!” What a delightful way to fellowship, enjoy one another, keep down the gathering miscellany in one’s closets and drawers, and serve others! I love this lady…….Hats off to you, “Dini.”
This picture and poem was her 70th year “statement”. A nephew out of state was trying to entice her to “retire” and move close to them. She sent him this picture and said she wasn’t ready to be a “Nanny Gran.” LOL! I want to be like Bernadine when I grow up!
