Proverbs 2:9-15

So now you can pick out what’s true and fair, find all the good trails! Lady Wisdom will be your close friend, and Brother Knowledge your pleasant companion. Good Sense will scout ahead for danger, Insight will keep an eye out for you. They’ll keep you from making wrong turns, or following the bad directions of those who are lost themselves and can’t tell a trail from a tumbleweed, These losers who make a game of evil and throw parties to celebrate perversity, Traveling paths that go nowhere, wandering in a maze of detours and dead ends

Someone wrote to Dr. Billy Graham and asked, “Where did the devil come from? I know God is supposed to have created everything, but why would He create the devil?”
Dr. Graham replied: “Although the Bible doesn’t give us many details, it indicates the devil was a mighty angel, created by God to do good. In time, he rebelled against God and tried to take God’s place as the ruler of the universe. Behind his rebellion was pride-a pride so great the Bible says he declared ‘I will make myself like the Most High’ (Isaiah 14:14). His plot failed, but ever since then Satan’s one goal has been to oppose God. Never underestimate Satan’s ability to deceive.
“But listen: Satan is a defeated foe! Spiritual battles will continue until Christ’s final victory. Whose side are you on? Give your life to Christ without delay.”

You know, reading through posts by childhood friends, family members, church friends, and new acquaintances provides abundant laughs each day and an occasional tear. It’s been a particularly good, emotionally stirring morning on facebook. Love you all!

Today has been a very long and somewhat angst-ridden day with an approaching deadline and some things pending that are simply beyond my ability to affect, yet which will not get done without someone acting on them. It’s also been marked by some unexpected items popping up of which I was unaware. (Duh…..the very definition of “unexpected”!) It’s been one of those days in which I had difficulty shutting down the day and setting aside the questions…..did I do all that I could have done? Have I been faithful to my responsibilities and not taken on things that are not mine to own?

The leftover chocolate Halloween candy offered some consolation, but the caffeine in it has compounded the inability to close out the day….* sigh *
