In addition to volunteer case management with residents at Mary Ellen’s Place (M.E.P.) and benevolence request case management with 3 churches, I am now privileged to be volunteering about 10 hours a week in life recovery counseling and case management with clients at Medical Outreach Mission (M.O.M.) in Montgomery, a medical foundation-funded non-profit clinic for individuals with no other resources for primary and specialty care services in our area. I’m working 2 extended-appointment cases, 1.5 hrs. each, 3 days a week. What a blessing to engage with individuals about holistic strategies for improved wellbeing and identifying and addressing obstacles to living in “thrive mode” rather than “survive mode!”
