Prayer Talk With Bill

Bill shared part of his morning study group’s discussion on Judges: Principles of Victory:

“The right prayer might not be, “Lord, take this away” but “Lord, use this as a way through the brokenness of my life right now, to shine Your light in this dark world in which I live. And let people see in me, not the reality of my own self-sufficiency, but the reality of the sufficiency of the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom we trust.”

My heart grieves for another family in the midst of an adult child’s marriage difficulties. It’s become a generational curse…..parents divorcing, children divorcing….along with other generational curses….parents using drugs, children using drugs…..parents denying God, children denying God……parents failing to accept personal responsibility, children failing to accept personal responsibility.

One person surrendering to Christ, asking the Lord to use the brokenness, the difficulty, the pain to bring the Light of Christ to the situation, revealing the presence of God to the individuals involved, can start a revival that can redeem the situation. It won’t be quick. It won’t be easy. But God wants to do it. We must surrender and dedicate it to God for not just restoration, but in some situations, actual resurrection……of individuals’ spirits, of marriages, of families. Come, Lord Jesus.  CBB  3/24/16

Job 28:28….And he said to the human race,
“The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom,
and to shun evil is understanding.” (NIV)

Bill is studying Job and he is sharing with me his thoughts and insights as he does. I love having a husband who studies the Word and shares his wisdom with me!   3/27/17

Watching the movie “The Case for Christ”, story of Lee Stroebel’s conversion from atheist to believer in Christ with Bill this afternoon. God sometimes takes us on very roundabout journeys of discovery in pursuit of Truth.

Then Bill found an interesting interview of Lee Stroebel from 3 years ago at Saddleback Church on You Tube. We watched it this morning together. Inspiration.
